New Holland Distillery – Walleye Run 7 Year Malted Rye Whiskey FISHERMAN’S BATCH Holland, Michigan, USA NOSE: Honeysuckle, baked apple, toffee and caramelized sugar. PALATE: Dry and not overly sweet with marzipan and a grain-forward malt character with structured toasted oak. FINISH: Lingering toasted oak with sweet grain, dry spice and a long warming finish. NOTES: Aged 7 years and bottled at 105 proof (52.5% ABV) with a blend of: 50% New Holland Brewing Company distillate and 50% Journeyman Distillery distillate. Made from sweet mash malted rye whiskey that is finished in brandy casks and toasted oak casks. That combination is highly unusual in American whiskey and gives it a profile somewhere between a malt-forward rye, a finished American single malt and a dessert-driven craft whiskey.
