Secondary notes can include cherry preserves, red berries, cola, citrus peel, honey and freshly baked bread. PALATE: Full-bodied and oily, delivering caramel, cocoa powder and brown sugar alongside cherry or red-fruit jam. Cinnamon, black pepper and seasoned oak build through the middle, with touches of tobacco, roasted nuts and sweet tea. FINISH: Medium-long to long, beginning with cinnamon and pepper before settling into caramel, brown sugar, tobacco and mature oak. A faint red-fruit sweetness and dark chocolate can remain after the spice fades.
